Who is this strange new dog? First he wants to sleep in my bed, and now he wants my treat. There’s only room for one princess in this house! I’ll show him…grrrrr!

Keepon is a small yellow robot that was designed to study social development by interacting with children. It was developed by Hideki Kozima in Kyoto, Japan. Keepon has four motors, a rubber skin, two cameras in its eyes, and a microphone in its nose.
Its simple appearance and behavior are intended to help children, even those with developmental disorders such as autism, to understand its attentive and emotive actions. The robot, usually under the control of a teleoperator, has interacted with children in schools and remedial centers for developmental disorders since 2003.
At this time Keepon is available for purchase for $30,000, but due to its popularity, a toy version was announced in Febuary of 2011 for 40 dollars! Availability is TBD, but you can be sure we’ll order one as soon as we can

Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.

This is my best friend, Floppy Ears McGee. He doesn’t talk much, but he’s a great snuggle buddy during nap time.
